AI Panel and Circuit Scanning: The End of Manual Transcription

Per-TECH's new AI module reads the circuit list straight from a photo of the distribution board and fills in the inspection table automatically — the only thing your inspector enters on site is the measured value.

The problem: circuit tables were filled in by hand

During electrical and earthing inspections, an inspector visits the panel, reads every circuit one by one, writes its name and number down by hand on paper or a tablet form, then takes the measurement. This line-by-line manual entry is slow and error-prone — on busy panels with 30-40 circuits it is the single slowest step of the visit.

  • Manual entry alone could take 15-20 minutes on busy panels
  • Handwritten circuit names/numbers risked mix-ups that showed up as report inconsistencies
  • Typing on a tablet in gloves or bright sunlight made the job harder still

The fix: scan with the camera, let AI fill the table

The new module in the Per-TECH mobile app analyses a photo of the panel and its circuit labels with an image-recognition model, then automatically populates the circuit name, number and type in the inspection table. Your inspector only enters the measured value (earth resistance, RCD trip time, continuity, etc.).

  • One photo scans the whole panel and generates the circuit rows automatically
  • If a label is hard to read, the inspector can correct it on the spot — the final call always stays with the inspector
  • The decision engine instantly compares the entered reading against the relevant standard limits
  • Works offline: scanning and table generation keep working even with no signal on site

What it delivers: speed, accuracy, consistency

Removing manual transcription doesn't just save time — it also makes reports more consistent and traceable.

  • Building the circuit table drops from tens of minutes to a couple of minutes
  • Transcription errors are eliminated
  • When the same panel is inspected again, the previous circuit list can be used as a reference
  • The report stays fully digital and traceable right up to the measurement itself

Try it on your own panel

AI-powered panel scanning ships as standard in Per-TECH's electrical and earthing module. Request a free demo and test it with your own distribution board.

FAQ

Which module includes this feature?

AI panel and circuit scanning is part of Per-TECH's electrical and earthing module and is used through the mobile app.

What happens if the AI misreads a circuit?

The inspector can correct the auto-generated row on the spot; the system only suggests a reading, the final decision always stays with the person carrying out the inspection.

Is this feature a paid add-on?

It is included in the electrical and earthing module licence; contact our sales team to confirm your specific plan.
